Family seal

Earl sent this photo of the seal and said -

attached is a photo of the Coat of Arms on the seal... hope it helps. Its slightly different from the seal on the ring, which has a straight bar with five roses in it, instead of the upside down V with five roses in it. Not much of a difference, but slightly odd. My eldest son Taz has the ring now, I'll ask him to send me a pic, which I'll forward on to you.

Indeed the moto is 'Vigilans et Audax' (which I believe means Watchful & Bold... or Vigilant and Audacious to be more accurate)

It seems I have inadvertantly strayed on to "posting" a message.
If I have--greetings to everyone, and thank you to Kate for setting this up.
Julius, I am very keen to see the extra pix that you discovered--AND a letter from my Mum to yours---hope it was a newsy one--Mum's letters weren't always the most newsy of missives.
Bini, you asked what happened next--once the blog was set up--I hope this is what happens, but I hope too that I will find my way back to adding to the Blog if this is indeed the way.
